Hales Corners Lutheran Foundation
Purpose
The Hales Corners Lutheran Foundation (The Foundation) is a separate nonprofit organization that was created for 2 main reasons. It supports the mission and vision of Hales Corners Lutheran Church and School (HCL) today and into the future, and it is a resource for God’s people on stewardship, biblical generosity and legacy. The Foundation carries out its purpose by:
Encouraging us to live Missionally Mature lives for God’s glory.
(2 Corinthians 9:5-12)Connecting charitable passions of God’s people with the wide range of ministry of the HCL. (Matthew 22:34-40)
Providing resources regarding charitable giving and estate planning. (Proverbs 15:22)
A Successful Legacy
There are many benefits of supporting The Foundation. By creating a long-lasting legacy, you can pass on your values and giving traditions to your loved ones. (Psalm 145:4) A successful legacy can impact others for multiple generations. And by working with the Foundation and your trusted advisors, you may be able to give more than you thought by maximizing tax and charitable strategies. Advantages may include a significant charitable income tax deduction, reducing or eliminating capital gains on the growth of securities and other appreciated assets, and reducing estate and gift taxes.
Stewarding Your Gift
The Foundation is committed to stewarding your gift with care and for God’s glory. The Foundation is an integral part of the overall vision of HCL for sustainability, growth and ministry. (Proverbs 29:18) However, The Foundation is governed by its own Board of Directors. The assets of The Foundation are separate from HCL and are invested in professionally managed investment funds per The Foundation’s Investment Policy. The Foundation offers both endowed and non-endowed fund accounts. An endowed gift allows for the gift to remain intact in perpetuity. Investment income from The Foundation is used to advance ministry, specifically in the areas of missions and outreach, worship and music, education, and facility maintenance and improvements.
Previous projects and programs supported by the Foundation include:
Red Letter Challenge, 40 Days of Purpose, 40 Days of Community, and Making Life Count congregation study programs
Remodeling the children’s nursery
HCL school auction support, which helped purchase new technology devices for students
2,500+ Bibles purchased for those in need

Ways to Give
The Foundation has a Gift Acceptance policy that allows individuals, Trusts, Donor Advised Funds, or companies to be creative with gifts that have lasting impact. Each gift is an act of worship. (2 Corinthians 8-9) If you are moved to make a gift, the Foundation considers it a great joy to partner with you in growing God’s Kingdom.
Gifts to The Foundation can be made during life as faithful stewards of all God’s blessings.
(1 Corinthians 4:1-2)
Gifts to The Foundation can also be made at the end of life through an Estate plan. An estate plan that reflects Godly wisdom will be an opportunity to make the most important stewardship decision of your life.
Consider how you have been blessed. (1 Peter 4:10)
Have you received a recent bonus, inheritance or financial windfall? Has God blessed your talents in unanticipated ways?
As you are blessed you can be a blessing to many. (Genesis 12:2-3)
